
While players can gain large amounts of power from these beneficial effects, higher amounts of Corruption also cause the player to become subject to increasingly negative effects such as snaring them, spawning void zones, summoning minions of N'Zoth, and reducing player healing. Corrupted gear does not change ilevel, but instead will instead gain both a beneficial effect and an associated amount of the Corruption Stat.
